Nature of the Battlefield is part of the summer campfire series at the Gettysburg National Military Park, Pitzer Woods Amphitheater. All campfire series programs begin at 8:30 pm. Past programs include:

Jeri Jones: “Geology and the Gettysburg Campaign.” Learn about how the geology of the battlefield affected the outcome of the Battle of Gettysburg.

July 12, 2019

Strawberry Hill: “Animal Ambassadors.” Meet some of Strawberry Hill’s live animal ambassadors! Animals will include: a turtle, snake, and an owl!

August 3, 2019

Lou Kauffman: “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.” Learn about how the natural and agricultural resources of the area supported a massive influx of people during the battle and sustained them for days.
