Strawberry Hill Foundation, Inc. was established in Fairfield, Pennsylvania in 1986.
Frances Morton Froelicher, pictured right, began the Strawberry Hill Foundation to support her husband's, Hans Froelicher, efforts to clean-up and protect the Swamp Creek Watershed. For years, Frances worked tirelessly to establish an environmental education center that would foster appreciation for and understanding of our natural world. She believed that with a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and a great deal of enthusiasm, Strawberry Hill could become a valuable asset to the Adams County community.
Today, Strawberry Hill operates as the only non-profit environmental education organization in Adams County! Our nonprofit has worked tirelessly to protect wetlands, vernal pools, and two high-quality stream corridors, Swamp Creek and Middle Creek. The Strawberry Hill campus provides recreational and educational opportunities through a variety of nature programs, special events, and summer programming.
