Join us as we explore the vital role American chestnut played in building our nation and how this cautionary tale fits into a greater discussion on ecological sustainability.

The forest remains deep in sleep and it’s a hardscrabble life for those who venture out of their dens in search of food. Join us as we explore and learn about this miraculous and strange, frozen landscape.

Join us as we walk our beloved Pennsylvania woods under the full Wolf Moon and discover the history of real wolves which once inhabited our forests. Explore how human fear and misunderstanding shaped our beliefs and hunting practices and led to the elimination of wild wolves in our state.

Also - November’s full moon is the last of four super full moons in 2024! When a full moon takes place when the moon is near its closest approach to Earth, it is called a Super Full Moon. Join us as we explore this astrological phenomenon and learn what it means for life on Earth.

STEM is everywhere. Join us for a day of learning and creative fun as we explore animal habitats, math in nature, and all things bugs! Tinker with some STEM-inspired crafts that you can take home.
This program is designed to meet the Daisy math in Nature 1, Brownie Bugs, Junior Animal Habitats badge requirements. We will also have a tinker station that meets the requirements for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Craft & Tinker badges. Scouts will receive a certificate from Strawberry Hill after the program.
